ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 20. Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Kazyna is strengthening relations with Hungarian companies ahead of the signing of major agreements, Trend reports.
As part of the official delegation of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Hungary, the head of the national managing holding company Samruk-Kazyna, Nurlan Jakupov, met with the leaders of various Hungarian companies.
Firstly, Nurlan Jakupov met with the head of the Hungarian National Capital Holding fund. They discussed the framework for a future cooperation agreement. The draft document outlines the mechanisms for investing in industries and sectors that are of interest to Hungarian businesses and are critically important for Hungary's economy.
Next, Jakupov met with the head of MVM Group, Károly Matrai. Jakupov introduced the company’s activities to the top manager. The sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in the gas industry and nuclear energy.
Later, Jakupov met with the executive vice president of MOL Group, Jombor Marton, where they discussed cooperation in the oil and gas sector.
"I hope that the agreement that is planned to be signed between KazMunayGas and MOL will take our cooperation to a new level," Jakupov noted during the meeting.
MOL is involved in the development of the Rozhkovskoe gas condensate field.
Further discussions focused on expanding the presence of the fund’s portfolio company in Eastern and Central Europe, with the president and CEO of LAC Holding, honorary consul of Kazakhstan Laszlo Horvath.
A memorandum is planned to be signed between “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ), Xi’an Free Trade Port, and LAC Holding for the creation of an intermodal cargo terminal in Hungary.
“The presence of a reliable partner, a powerful transport and logistics holding, will ensure the successful implementation of KTZ’s development strategy,” Jakupov emphasized.
The company’s activities encompass railway freight
transportation, logistics, hospitality, and agriculture.
To note, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in
Hungary on a state visit, where he was welcomed at Budapest airport
by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
