ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 22. Kazakhstan and China set to launch three new terminals in 2025, expanding east-west logistics network, Trend reports
On February 21, 2025, the Secretary of the CPC Party Committee in Xi'an, Mr. Fang Hongwei, met with the CEO of JSC Kazakhstan Railways Nurlan Sauranbaev.
The parties noted that in 2024, more than 5,000 trains were sent from the Dry Port in Xi'an on the China-Europe route, which accounted for 25 percent of all shipments along this route and set a historic record.
During the negotiations, it was emphasized that the agreements being implemented have transformed close cooperation into a strategic alliance, which is shaping reliable logistics chains and opening new opportunities for the growth of cargo traffic and the development of transport industries in Kazakhstan and China.
The parties approved the plans for the current year, including the launch of the logistics complex in Almaty (GTS-2), the opening of a new logistics center CRK Terminal at the Selyatino station in the Moscow region, and the launch of the terminal in the Alat port in Azerbaijan. Next year, logistics centers and terminals will be launched at the Svisloch station (Belarus) and in Budapest (Hungary).
The integrated approach and dynamic implementation of the
projects will allow the formation of a full-fledged network of
terminals along the East-West route by 2026, which will be an
important step in the development of the country's
transit-transport potential.
Thanks to the operation of the joint cargo terminal in Xi'an, a key
hub on the TITR route, the volume of transportation last year
increased 33 times. In partnership with the Dry Port of Xi'an, a
number of international logistics projects are being implemented,
with a total investment exceeding $200 million.
