Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 arch / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / About 30% of shops in Baku sell margarine instead of dairy butter, Khalig Mammadov, head of State Service on Control over Consumer Market at the Economic Development Ministry, stated.
"The monitoring has revealed that butter which was sold as diary butter was in fact margarine which is useful for cooking," Mammadov said. The cost of margarine sold as 'dairy butter' is AZN 1.9 whilst the cost for natural Russian dairy butter is AZN 6.
The State Service officials have warned shop owners not to deceive the customers.
Since December 2006, a special Expertise Centre was established at the State Service to control the consumer market in the country.
