Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 Dec / Trend , corr. E.Ismaylov /A new action plan of the TRACECA transport corridor for 2010-2012 will be accepted in 2009, the official action plan of TRACECA for 2007-2009 said.
The TRACECA program is on the turning period. The further development of the region through the corridor needs acceleration of reforming of legal mechanisms in the transport sector and strengthening of institutional aspects in the economic and political plan including investing into infrastructure.
The main short-term goals and tasks of the TRACECA strategy to 2015 is to develop state plans to finance transport, mobilize regional and international financing resources, assist the development of state and private partnership, provide safety shipping, durable air transport, land transport, strengthen durable development of transport infrastructure, as well as restructure.
The medium-term perspective of the strategy envisages working out principles of development of regional transport networks, methodology of planning and projecting of cargo transport, defining of key transport projects and uninterrupted upgrade of networks. In addition, modernization of ports, water mains, issues regarding the prospects of development of railway systems, crossing of borders and complex plans of multimodal transportation are envisaged in the strategy.
The long-term perspective in accordance with the strategy to 2015 includes cooperation in the sphere of management of air traffic, as well as to optimize the use of airports.
