PremiumAzerbaijan to use agreement on double tax avoidance with three more countries in 2009

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 23 / Trend , N.Ismayilova/ Convention on Double tax avoidance on incomes and property, as well as elimination of tax evasion, which Azerbaijan inked with Estonia, Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea, will come to power on Jan .1 in 2009, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes said.

Agreement with Estonia will be applied to profit tax of juridical figures and income tax of individuals, tax on property and tax on land in Azerbaijan, as well as to income tax in the territory of Estonia.

Protocol and Convention between the countries was inked on Oct. 30 in 2007 and covers three years.

Agreement with Bulgaria will applied to profit tax of juridical figures and income tax of individuals, tax on property and tax on land in Azerbaijan. It will applied to tax on private income, tax on corporate income, final income and tax on real estate in the territory of Bulgaria.

The countries signed Protocol and Convention on Nov. 12 in 2007 and covers five years.

Agreement with the Republic of Korea will be applied to profit tax of juridical figures and income tax of individuals, tax on property and tax on land in Azerbaijan. The agreement will be applied to income tax, corporate tax, civil tax and additional tax on development of agriculture in the territory of the Republic of Korea.

Protocol and Convention between the countries was inked on May 18 in 2008 and covers five years.

So far, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Taxes has signed agreement on double tax avoidance with 28 countries and five of which will come into effect in 2009.
