Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 7 / Trend , I. Khalilova /
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will send a mission to Azerbaijan at the end of January to continue consultations on possible transit routes, a government source said.
In 2008, two ADB missions visited the country and studied transit possibilities in Azerbaijan.
"The transport sector falls within the ADB's sphere of interest in consulting the Azerbaijani government," the source said.
The ADB mission will consult the transport and economic development ministries, said the State Customs Committee and Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association (ABADA).
The ADB mission's task during previous visits was to determine company transit preferences while traversing Azerbaijan, including timetables and funds.
The results aim to assist in developing Azerbaijan's domestic transit infrastructure for lending technical assistance and conducting training sessions.
