Azerbaijani citizens are not fully informed about insurance of tourists. The most popular way of these products sale for insurance companies is tourist firms, director of total insurance department of the international insurance company Narmin Muradova said in her interview to Business Time magazine.
"The number of citizens leaving for abroad and rest, business trips and study has recently increased. Unfortunately, they pay no attention to medical insurance before leaving the country," Muradova said.
Representatives of tour companies and insured said that Azerbaijani citizens pay little attention to tourist insurance. They remind about tourist insurance when this insurance case occurs and there is necessity in medial aid, she said.
"Privileges given by insurance were taken specifically in our country. Several years ago most of Azerbaijani tourists take the necessity in buying insurance as obligatory financial loss before desired resort, Muradova said. Criteria of choice were corresponding. The less was cost of insurance polis, the more clients and tour companies buy it.
In case of indisposition you can get only consultation of local doctor via cheap polis. But you will have to pay for necessary drug and procedures. As a result all can suffer damage, a client without necessary aid, tour firm which reputation will be ruined and an insurance company.
Presently, most of tour companies allow a client choosing the most convenient terms of insurance. The most importing thing is rather low price given among variety of accidents from which one can insure. While limiting responsibility in the amount of $20,000 (services can be rendered for this sum) in average $5-6 (for old people, mountain-skiers and other sportsmen in average two times more) for 6 days. Roughly $10 is nothing compared to calm rest, Muradova said.
