June 24, Baku has held the 17th Annual Meeting of the Governing Council of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC). Deloitte & Touche was elected as the external auditor of the corporation within the meeting. Also an agreement was adopted on amendments in connection with introduction of new insurance services by the corporation.
Corporation CEO Abdel Rahman Taha called on the Corporation's all member countries to be more active in the sphere of capital protection.
"For 40 years the corporation has allocated $8 billion to support member countries, and today adoption of amendments will improve our insurance services, that is, now the Corporation can provide services on credit insurance and proper risk management during import from non-members into the Corporation member countries," he said.
Taha also called on the OIC member countries outside the corporation to join ICIEC, because it will be good for them.
