Days of Azerbaijan will be held at the head office of the World Bank (WB) in Washington on March 15-16, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) reported.
Days of Azerbaijan will be held with the support of the CBA and the WB Baku Office. In this regard, a delegation headed by CBA President Elman Rustamov CBA will pay a visit to Washington.
During its cooperation with Azerbaijan, the WB has actively supported the establishment of a market economy, poverty reduction, the creation of a modernized infrastructure and financial sector development, the CBA reported.
The event dedicated to Azerbaijan will mark the effective cooperation of the World Bank and Azerbaijan and Azerbijani culture will be demonstrated for the duration of the event.
The aim of the event is to strengthen dialogue and coordination between Azerbaijan and the WB, which it joined in 1992. An exhibition of national carpets, a banquet of national cuisine, and a presentation of music and photography will be held by the national postal operator Azerpocht.
Rustamov is also expected to hold talks with WB President Robert Zoellick and Executive Director Michel Mordasini, who represents Azerbaijan and a group of countries in the bank's Board of Directors, and among IMF representatives and officials. The subject of the negotiations will be the state and prospects of the country's cooperation with these structures.
