Prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services grew up by 2.2 percent in February compared to January 2011, the State Statistics Committee said.
During the reported period, mostly prices of food products increased by 2.2 percent, prices of non-food products - 0.1 percent and tariffs for services- 4.3 percent.
The country observed increase in prices for foodstuffs such as rice, semolina, meat, chicken, fresh fish, pasta, eggs, sour cream, butter, vegetable oil, lemons, oranges, tangerines, bananas, apples, pears, quince, pomegranate, blood orange, chestnuts, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, onions, potatoes.
Prices for products such as wheat flour, bread, pasteurized milk and buckwheat decreased in January.
The country observed increase in tariffs for services rendered to the population. The increase was observed on tariffs for passenger transportation by rail and air to the CIS countries, tariffs on postage, as well as tariffs for sewerage services and cold water.
