Goods turnover between Iran and Spain amounted to over 3.923 billion euro in 2010, Mehr News Agency reported.
Oil and gas trades account for most of the economic cooperation between Tehran and Madrid.
Spain is among the main buyers of Iran's crude oil, and 15 percent of the country's oil imports are from the Islamic Republic.
There are more than 1,500 Spanish companies working in different sectors, including electricity generation and renewable energy in Iran.
An Iranian trade delegation is in the Spanish capital, Madrid, to discuss ways to increase bilateral cooperation in energy, banking, and tourism sectors.
"Iran has more to offer to Spanish investors than just oil and gas. We have organized this event to promote trade and investment opportunities in banking, housing, and infrastructures as well, and make it easier for businessmen to start up in Iran," Vice president of Madrid's Chamber of Commerce, Miguel Corsini said, Press TV reported.
Spanish private sector has also expressed readiness to invest in the Iranian energy sector.
