In 2011, Azerbaijan imported about 64,920 cars, or 25.3 percent more than in 2010, Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee told Trend on Friday.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total cost of passenger cars imported last year amounted to $646.46 million, which is 43.2 percent more than in 2010.
In 2011, Azerbaijan imported 6,177 units of trucks, which is 40.3 percent more than in 2010. The total cost of imported cars hit $146.62 million or 37.2 percent more than the year before last.
Also in 2011 the country imported 655 buses, which is 22.9 percent less than in 2010. In 2011 buses were imported in the amount of over $26.5 million, which is 35.2 percent less than in 2010.
