Tashkent, Astana to hold meeting of intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation

Next, the twelfth meeting of the intergovernmental commission on bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will be held in Tashkent on Nov.29-30, a source in government circles told Trend on Wednesday.

It is expected that at the upcoming meeting the Uzbek delegation will be headed by First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Rustam Azimov, while the delegation of Kazakhstan - Deputy Prime Minister Krymbek Kusherbayev.

The commission meeting will be attended by representatives of state structures and business circles of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

The agenda includes issues on intensifying cooperation in trade, economy, investment, energy and transport spheres.

Kazakhstan is one of the important trade partners of Uzbekistan. More than half of the country's trade turnover with the region's countries accounts for it. In 2011, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $2.7 billion.
