Some 39 trillion rials (about $3.2 billion) worth of bonds were sold in Iran during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21), the Fars News agency quoted the Central Bank's deputy director Ali-Asghar Mirmohammad Sadeqi as saying.
Iran totally issued 92 trillion rials (about $7.5 billion) in bonds in the past Iranian calendar year, of which 47 trillion rials (about $3.8 billion) were sold, he added.
Some 300 trillion rials (about $24.5 billion) worth of bonds are in the hands of people, he noted.
On May 26, Central Bank Governor Mahmoud Bahmani said that Iran plans to issue 250 trillion rials (some $20.3 billion) in bonds in the current calendar year to support domestic production and help regulate liquidity growth.
