Innovation Center under the State Agency for services to citizens and social innovation under the president of Azerbaijan will start production of hologram labels to be used for labeling of intellectual property, the Copyright Agency of Azerbaijan told Trend Jan.6.

The agency said that the contract with the Innovation Center, which won the tender for the purchase of hologram labels, previously announced by the agency, was signed in late December last year. The contract is worth 34,000 AZN.

Technical and organizational work has been currently completed and hologram labels will start to be used in the near future. The Copyright Agency created an electronic system for personalization of hologram labels, placed on objects of copyright.

Hologram labels will be placed on the audiovisual works, phonograms, computer programs, information collections and books. Center of intellectual property rights at the agency will regulate the issue of hologram labels to the copyright entities.

Currently, an electronic system for issuing hologram labels has been created. In addition, a Track & Trace system for smart phones that allows determining remotely the legitimacy of the hologram labels has also been created.

The request is reviewed within seven working days. The cost of 1 hologram label for all products of intellectual property subject to labeling is 0.15 AZN.

Products distributed without these holograms will be considered piracy, and individuals, officials and legal entities will be fined in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences of Azerbaijan.
