The volume of cargo transportation via all kinds of transport in Turkmenistan has increased in Jan.-Sept. 2015, said the message from the country's State Statistics Committee.
The transportation via the railway has increased by 20 percent in Turkmenistan.
The country has carried out intense modernization of domestic railways during the reporting period.
The growth rate of the rendered services by the Road Transport Ministry stood at 24.8 percent. It totaled 0.7 percent in the sphere of cargo transportation and 0.9 percent in passenger transportation.
This is while the growth rate of rendered services by Turkmenistan Airlines totaled 15.6 percent. It stood at 0.6 percent and 0.1 percent in cargo and passenger transportation, respectively.
The growth rate of the carried out work by the State Service of Maritime and River Transportation of Turkmenistan stood at 30 percent.
The implementation of regional transport projects have been intensified in Turkmenistan in recent years.
The Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway was inaugurated in December 2014. This corridor will provide the access of European and Asian countries to Central Asia and the Persian Gulf region.
The construction of another railway - Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan - started in 2014. China, Kyrgyzstan and Iran can also connect to this railway.
