Due to the outbreak of bird flu at the White Bird LLC poultry farm in the Rostov region of Russia in October this year, the Committee of Veterinary Control and Supervision of Kazakh Agriculture Ministry extended restrictions on the import of live poultry and products that did not undergo treatment, as well as feed for birds from Russia, Kazakh media reported.
Earlier, an outbreak of bird flu was detected at the Belokalitvinskaya and Eurodon poultry farms in the Rostov region.
Kazakhstan has previously imposed restrictions on the import of products from the poultry farms in the Altai Krai, Sakha Republic, Astrakhan, Kalmykia, Kursk, Penza, Samara, Oryol, Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov regions of Russia.
Currently, the Russian register of enterprises of the Eurasian Customs Union includes 55 enterprises for breeding, production and processing of poultry and poultry products that are limited on the import of their products to Kazakhstan.
It is worth noting that Kazakhstan imports the bulk of the poultry and poultry products consumed by the population.
Last year, the country imported the products in the amount of 173,766 tons, while the exports made up 5,954 tons.
