During the 11 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 44.89 million tons of livestock products have been transited through the Bazargan customs located in the Maku County of Iran’s north-western West Azerbaijan Province, Fatemeh Ayrom, Head of Maku Veterinary Office, told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Ayrom, livestock products were sent from Turkey, Brazil, Cyprus, Austria and Paraguay.
Ayrom added that, after passing inspections in the veterinary department, these products were transited to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
"Frozen chicken paste, poultry feed and enhancing additives, frozen chicken meat, chicken skin, frozen beef, animal feed, pasteurized milk are the main transit products," she said.
Ayrom went on to say that 22 million tons of livestock products have been imported from Austria, Spain, Scotland, Ireland, Hungary, Germany, Ukraine, Turkey, Egypt, the Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Japan, Turkmenistan, Czech Republic, China, France, Poland and Lithuania through the border quarantine of Bazargan customs during the mentioned period.
Ayrom added that imported products mainly consist of vitamins, pharmaceutical additives, animal feed supplements, eggs, feeds for small animals, fish feed, meat and biological products.
"Some 14,200 tons of poultry paste, decorative fish, sheep wool remnants, and shell powder were exported through Bazargan customs," she said.
