Chinese companies are interested in Turkey’s mining industry, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) told Trend.
TOBB said 8 Chinese companies were registered in Turkey in January 2019, 4 of which will be operating in the mining industry.
"The total capital of Chinese companies registered in Turkey in January of this year amounted to 1,885,000 Turkish liras," said the statement.
It was noted that the total capital invested in the Turkish mining industry by Chinese companies makes up 1.6 million Turkish liras.
There were also 3 Iranian construction companies registered in Turkey in January 2019, along with 9 companies with Russian capital, which is 5 companies more than the corresponding figure for January 2018.
"The total capital of Russian companies registered in Turkey in January amounted to 2,090,000 million Turkish liras, while in January 2018 this figure made up 2.610 million Turkish liras," as was stated by the TOBB.
The TOBB noted that 5 of the registered Russian companies cover the fields of wholesale and retail trade. A new financial company has also been established.
It was noted that there were 4 companies with Russian capital registered in the Turkey’s Antalya Province in January, and 5 in Istanbul.
In January 2019, 11,400 companies were registered in Turkey overall, and 5,000 companies were shut down.
