Three auctions were announced in Georgia in 2020 related to sale of state-owned enterprises, National Agency for State Property of Georgia said, Trend reports via Georgian media.
According to the agency, last year one of three auctions announced to sell state-owned enterprises failed.
As for the plan for the privatization of state property, it is planned to accumulate 150 million lari ($45.2 million) in the state budget in 2021.
At the same time, the National Agency of State Property said that in 2020 the approved budget plan was fulfilled and 130.48 million lari ($39.5 million) were mobilized to the account of the National Agency of State Property as a result of privatization of state property.
This year it is planned to privatize up to 50 state enterprises.
According to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava, one of the directions of economic recovery is the privatization of state property.
As Turnava noted, in a month the state will offer business 10, and within a year up to 50 state-owned enterprises proposed for sale.
