The exports from the Markazi Province (central Iran) decreased by 13 percent in terms of value and 7 percent in terms of volume during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through February 18, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Markazi Province Saeed Jafari said in a meeting with exporters of the province, Trend reports citing the IRNA.
According to him, about $800 million worth of goods were exported from Iran's Markazi Province within 11 months.
The chairman added that 90 percent of the country's goods were exported to four neighboring countries - Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Jafari noted that $24 million worth of goods were exported from the Markazi Province to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states.
“At present, there are 231 exporters in the Markazi Province of Iran,” he said.
Speaking in the meeting, the governor of Iran's Markazi Province, Ali Aghazadeh said that about $900 million worth of goods were exported from the province in the current Iranian year. The goods of the Markazi Province were exported to 100 countries.
Reportedly, there are 2,800 enterprises in Iran's Markazi Province.
