BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. Iran has resumed the activity of 1,192 industrial enterprises since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023) to date, Head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) Farshad Moghimi said, Trend reports.
Moghimi also stated that, as a result, 23,262 people were provided with jobs.
He added that in total, 4,010 industrial enterprises have been re-launched in the country since the current government took office (August 2021).
In addition, the production capacity of 4,900 industrial enterprises in the country has increased during the current government’s tenure, the director noted.
"Since August 2021, a total of 92,500 people have been provided with jobs by resuming the activity of industrial enterprises in the country and increasing their production capacity," he said.
According to Moghimi, Iran’s industrial parks have seen a significant improvement in their production levels since the current government took office. Thanks to the necessary steps taken by ISIPO, the percentage of enterprises with production below 50 percent has dropped from 33.8 to 28.4. The organization has also announced plans to boost the production of another 3,300 industrial enterprises that are currently underperforming. These plans are expected to be implemented in the next Iranian year (March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025).
At present, there are 851 industrial parks in Iran. Overall, more than 55,000 industrial enterprises operate in these industrial parks, and more than 1 million people work there.
