Azerbaijan, Baku, 11 Dec / Trend corr. A.Badalova/ OPEC cut forecasts on world demand for oil by 300,000 barrels a day - to 86.7mln in 2009. Growth of the world demand will make up 500,000 barrels a day in 2009 as compared to the forecast 540,000 barrels a day, OPEC said.
According to report of OPEC, forecasts on world demand for oil was cut by 260,000 barrels a day - to 86.2mln with 290,000 barrels of growth in 2008 as a result of reduction of demand for oil in the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
In 2009 demand for oil will be reduced to 47.4mln barrels a day in the OECD countries as compared to 48mln in 2008.
Demand for oil in post-Soviet countries will slightly rise to 4.2mln barrels a day in 2009 as compared to 4.1mln barrels a day in 2008.
Demand for oil in OPEC countries will be reduced by 910,000 barrels a day, making up 30.9mln barrels a day, in 2009 as compared to 2008. Averagely, demand for oil will amount to 31.8mln barrels a day in 2008 and this figure is by 430,000 barrels more than the figure in 2007.
