Ukraine, Kiev, Jan. 14 /corr. Trend Z.Novsvitski / Ukraine's Naftogaz Company directed a
letter to Gazprom, with a request to provide industrial gas on credit for
re-establishing the transit of the Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine.
"Taking into account that there is no agreement for year, yesterday we sent a
temporary technical agreement by Feb. 1, on which it will be understandable how
the gas transport system works. Also we noted that there would be no mutual
claims, that we need industrial gas; taking into account that price of the
transit, especially for gas, is not regulated; we asked to deal in the form
technological credit or how it is convenient. Still there is no answer," the
chairman of board of Naftogaz, Oleg Dubina, said to press conference in Kiev on Jan. 14.
The head of company emphasized that the
Ukrainian side does not have obligations before the European countries
regarding gas supplies. "Not we stopped gas, and we proved this to the European
Union," he said.
Also Dubina added that today Ukraine takes 197 million cubic meters of gas from
the underground gasholders per day. 62 million cubic meters is gas of own
production and consumption is 195 million cubic meters for the population and
the fuel-energy complex and 47 million cubic meters for the industry.
