Turkmenistan is one of key gas providers in the Caspian region and notes growth of gas and liquefied gas production at the first quarter in 2009, the Altin Asir national TV channel reported.
Vice Premier Tuvakmammed Japarov made a report at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The vice prime minister reported that natural gas production increased by 105 percent and its export - by 108 percent in this period.
Production of liquefied gas, polypropylene and other products of the Fuel and Energy Complex (FEC) is increasing, he said. At present Turkmenistan sells majority of natural gas to Russia and Iran, as well as West and Japan buy up gas processing product.
Turkmengas state concern announced an international tender to reconstruct the Liquefied Gas Storage Plant (LGSP) in the Naip field by constructing 600 cubic-meters reservoir and reconstruct storage point and ship liquefied gas at the Gazojak settlement under "turn-key" conditions.
