Azerbaijan’s SOCAR-AQS LLC, rendering drilling and well services, has drilled the new horizontal well No. 30 in the Western Absheron field in the Caspian Sea, the company told Trend March 3.
Drilling of the well, with a depth of 795 meters, started on Dec. 27, 2016 and was carried out from the fixed offshore platform No. 20.
Azneft Production Union ordered the drilling.
The Western Absheron field is operated by SOCAR’s Absheronneft Oil & Gas Extraction Management. SOCAR-AQS carries out the drilling operations in the field on the basis of an agreement.
SOCAR-AQS was established in 2007 by SOCAR and Absheron Drilling as a joint venture.
