Azneft Production Union of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is currently engaged in a total of 45 (25 onshore and 20 offshore) fields in Azerbaijan, according to the data obtained by Trend.
As many as 27 of these fields are currently under development, six are inactive and six are in exploration.
Azneft production Union is developing 13 offshore fields out of 20, of which two are inactive, and four are in exploration.
As for onshore fields, 14 fields are currently under development by Azneft, four are inactive and two are in exploration.
Joint ventures and operating companies are working on 36 fields, including 8 offshore and 28 onshore fields. Of these fields 32 are under development, with six being offshore and 26 onshore, 1 onshore field is inactive, 2 offshore fields and 1 onshore field are under exploration.
To sum up, currently, Azneft Production Union, Joint ventures and operating companies are working on 81 fields, including 28 offshore and 53 onshore fields.
As many as 59 fields are under development, seven are inactive and nine are in exploration.
