The agro-diesel promotion program will last until the end of 2021 in Georgia, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture.
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum supplies diesel to farmers at a reduced price. Individuals and legal entities owning agricultural land, except for pasture, or persons who will primarily register and specify agricultural land, who own at least 0.25 ha of agricultural land registered with the National Agency of Public Registry, will be able to participate in the program and get a discount on diesel at a reduced price.
The program provides discount fuel cards - per hectare 150 litres and for more than 100 ha agricultural land no more than 15,000 litres.
According to the agency, it will be possible to receive discount cards remotely. Registration for the program will start on February 1, and discount cards will be activated from February 7.
Fuel cards will be issued remotely through the ministry website; farmers will also be able to receive the cards at the Rural Development Agency's regional offices; in Georgian Autonomous Republic of Adjara - in the municipal centers.
The program provides 150 liters of fuel discount cards for 1 hectare and no more than 15,000 liters for agricultural land that exceeds 100 hectares.
Nationwide, diesel will be delivered according to the established schedule: from February 1 to March 31 - more than 2,000 liters of fuel will be delivered, from April 1 to April 30 - an additional 1,500 liters, and from May 1 to December 31 - the remaining amount.
Discount cards can be cashed at SOCAR Georgia Petroleum gas stations throughout Georgia.
Farmers using the program will have the opportunity to buy diesel fuel for 20 tetri (6.08 cents) cheaper from the wholesale bases of the company SOCAR Georgia Petroleum at a price fixed in the monthly consolidated tender for the current year and from the gas stations at a discount of 16 tetri (4.87 cents).
The program is implemented based on a memorandum signed between the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture and SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, and no budget funds are spent on it.
