About 6,700 tons of LPG cold gas was exported from the Tombak port in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) for a test in the last week, Managing Director of Iran's Pars Oil & Gas Company (POGC) Mohammad Meshkinfam said, Trend reports citing the POGC’s website.
According to Meshkinfam, the 44,000-ton ship will dock to the Tombak port next week and the LPG will be loaded to the ship. All steps have been taken in the port for the export of LPG, and there are no problems in this regard.
The director added that six pipelines are being laid for transportation of LPG from two refineries of the South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) to the Tombak port.
The South Pars gas field (called North Dome in Qatar) is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran has so far spent $90 billion on projects of the South Pars gas field.
Iran extracted 570 million cubic meters of gas per day from this field in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020).
As reported, Iran is currently extracting 700 million cubic meters of gas per day from the gas field.
