A combined-cycle power plant with an F-class turbine, which has the capacity to generate 906 megawatt-hours of electricity, will be built in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran), an official of Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company Mohsen Hatami said, Trend citing the company’s website.
According to Hatami, in this regard, a license was obtained from the Department of Environmental Protection of Khuzestan Province.
The official added that the Veys combined cycle power plant will have two gas units with a generation capacity of 307 megawatt-hours of electricity each and a steam unit with a generation capacity of 292 megawatt-hours of electricity.
“It is expected that the first gas unit of this power plant will start operating in the summer of 2023,” he said.
Hatami noted that the Veys power plant will be built on an area of 86 hectares in cooperation with Iran’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Company and MAPNA Group.
