Natural gas extracted from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field is being transported to Türkiye. Volumes of natural gas are supplied to the Turkish market through the South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) and the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP). The first gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline entered the Turkish market in 2007. Transportation of commercial gas to Turkey via TANAP began on June 30, 2018.
