Pensions in Uzbekistan in 2019 increased by 29.2 percent compared to 2018, allowances increases by 42.7 percent, Trend reports via State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The growth of allowances is explained by the fact that from January through December 2019, 4.7 trillion soum ($3.8 million) of material assistance were allocated for social support of the population.
The State Statistics Committee also noted that the share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers amounted to 82.5 percent, benefits - 13.7 percent, scholarships - 3.8 percent. Thus, the total volume of total income of the population grew by 2.8 percent.
In addition, the Committee was told that the nominal growth rate of remittances from abroad in 2019 was 128.7 percent, and their share in total income amounted to 15.4 percent. The largest share of remittances in total income of the population is registered in Khorezm, Samarkand and Andijan regions.
