Bank lending in Baku and regions of Azerbaijan as of early March 2021 amounted to over 14.2 billion manat ($8.3 billion), which is by 6.9 percent less than in the same period of 2020, Trend reports on Apr.1 referring to the statistical bulletin of the country's Central Bank.

According to the bulletin, in the reporting period, the loans worth 11.36 billion manat ($6.7 billion) were issued in Baku, which is almost four times more than in the regions. At the same time, 7.3 billion manat that’s $4.3 billion (64.4 percent of total lending in Baku) accounted for the loans in the national currency in Baku.

The average annual interest rate on loans in Azerbaijan as of early March this year was 11.24 percent while in Baku - 9.41 percent.
