BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. The number of ATMs in Azerbaijan as of the end of October 2024 amounted to 3,253 units (5.28 percent growth compared to the same period in 2023).
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) indicates that there were 1,741 ATMs in Baku (8.54 percent growth) and 1,512 in regions (1.75 percent growth) at the end of October 2024.
The number of POS terminals installed in trade and service facilities in the republic reached a whopping 107,827 units, which is a significant increase of 30.52 percent compared to the same period in 2023. In the meantime, Baku saw the installation of 65,270 POS terminals (20.11 percent growth), while other regions saw the installation of 41,210 POS terminals (52.76 percent growth).
Retail trade objects hosted a total of 100,570, or 97.33 percent, of all POS terminals during the reporting period. The number of POS terminals accepting contactless payments at the end of October amounted to 104,940 units (an increase of 31.43 percent).
To note, a total of 3,112 ATMs were functioning in Azerbaijan at the end of 2023, of which 1,621 were in Baku and 1,491 were in other regions of the country. The number of POS terminals at the end of 2023 amounted to 83,584 units.
