Oracle Corporation prepares to open an office in Azerbaijan, the regional representative of Oracle for Azerbaijan and Georgia Aleksey Alpirov informed Trend. According to him, the representation will be opened by the end of the year. The head of the office has not been appointed yet.
Opening the office will be officially announced by Oracle CIS, which will also present all working composition of the office.
The office will fulfill the function of selling the products of the company, work with the partners, strengthen the competence of the partners, etc. In 2007 fiscal year, Oracle in Russia and CIS indents to strengthen the position in all markets.
Oracle plans to increase the expansion in the market of small and medium enterprises and broaden the proposals of the large enterprises through the new possibilities of Oracle and Oracle Fusion Middleware.
In 2007 fiscal year, Oracle in CIS will continue developing the focal partnership programs for the creators and system integrators, expanding the regional partnership networks and deepening the expertise on the new technologies of the Corporation, especially on Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Business Intelligence.
The issue of opening an office in Azerbaijan was also touched upon by the Oracle Vice President and Director General for CIS countries Boris Sherbakov during Days of Oracle in Azerbaijan in February of this year.
The representative of Oracle assessed the IT market of Azerbaijan as attractive. Oracle has the experience of co-operation with Azerbaijan through 6 official partners, and the technologies of Oracle have been applied in the state bodies of the country such as Ministry of Finance, Interior Ministry, State Oil Fund, Azerbaijan National Bank, JV Azercell Telecom, etc.
