ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 17. The Turkish corporation Albayrak Group has stated its willingness to invest in the renovation of the Caspian Sea's Kazakh seaport infrastructure, Trend reports.

This was stated during a meeting between the company’s director for international business development, Cumhur Guzelciftci, and the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, Marat Karabayev.

Guzelciftci made a presentation of the company's capabilities.

The holding is interested in providing uninterrupted cargo transit and boosting cargo quantities along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor).

Albayrak Group operates ports in Trabzon, Turkey, Mogadishu, Somalia, Conakry, Guinea, and Baku, Azerbaijan.

As previously mentioned by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kazakhstan is contemplating a large-scale upgrade of its Caspian ports of Kuryk and Aktau.

The Middle Corridor is a transportation and commerce route that connects Asia and Europe, going through numerous regional countries. It is a different route from the standard Northern and Southern Corridors.

The route starts in China and crosses Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. It then passes through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye before reaching Europe.

The Middle Corridor offers a land route that connects the eastern parts of Asia, including China, with Europe, bypassing the longer maritime routes.
