ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 3. In August 2025, Uzbekistan and Russia were the cream of the crop when it came to money transfers from Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
In aggregate, 142,100 transactional operations amounting to 72.7
billion tenge ($132.9 million) were executed internationally from
Kazakhstan through international money transfer systems (IMTS),
reflecting a 1.8 percent uptick in transaction frequency and a 3.2
percent escalation in monetary volume relative to July 2025.
Uzbekistan secured a substantial influx of 27.9 billion tenge,
translating to approximately $51 million, which constitutes a
significant 38.4 percent share. In parallel, Russia's contribution
amounted to 18.4 billion tenge, equating to around $33.6 million,
thereby representing a notable 25.4 percent allocation. Türkiye,
Georgia, and Kyrgyzstan subsequently reported figures of 11.2
billion ($20.4 million), 4.6 billion ($8.4 million), and 2.5
billion tenge ($4.5 million), respectively.
Overall, there were 146,600 transactions executed, aggregating to a
total monetary flow of 75.1 billion tenge ($137.3 million) via the
IMTS platform in August, reflecting an uptick of 1.6 percent in
transaction volume and a 3.1 percent increase in monetary value
compared to the preceding month of July 2025. Kazakh financial
institutions and JSC “Kazpost” facilitate transactional services
through various platforms such as Zolotaya Korona, Western Union,
MoneyGram, UPT, among others, catering to both intra-national and
cross-border remittances.
In the realm of transactional dynamics, domestic transfers
constituted a mere 3 percent of the overall transaction count and
3.2 percent of the aggregate transfer value. Conversely,
international transfers dominated the landscape, comprising 97
percent of the transaction frequency and 96.8 percent of the total
volume metrics.
