BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 21. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia amounted to $611.575 million from January through March 2024, which is 6.1 percent more than in the same months of 2023 ($576.705 million), Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, exports totaled $118.725 million, declining by 9 percent from the first quarter of 2023’s figures ($130.329 million). Imports reached $492.849 million, which is 10.4 percent more than the $446.375 million in the corresponding months of last year.
In the overall trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan, Russia accounts for 16.4 percent. In Kyrgyzstan's export structure, Russia holds a 23.2 percent share, while in the import structure, it accounts for 15.3 percent. Russia was the second main trade partner of Kyrgyzstan after China (trade of $1.631 billion in 1Q2024).
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.723 billion from January through March 2024, which is 29.8 percent more than in the corresponding months of 2023.
Exports amounted to $510.9 million, increasing by 12.8 percent compared to January through March 2023. Imports, compared to the same period in 2023, grew by 33 percent, reaching $3.213 billion.
In the structure of trade turnover, exports accounted for 13.7 percent, while imports accounted for 86.3 percent.
