Baku, Azerbaijan, November 10. Tajikistan's Ministry of Agriculture has published updated data on the country's cotton production, Trend reports citing the ministry's press service.
According to the Ministry, as of November 4, 2022, the volume of cotton harvested in Tajikistan amounted to 379,302 tons.
"To date, farmers in the Khatlon region of Tajikistan have harvested 261,165 tons of cotton, in the Sughd region - 113,041 tons, and in districts under central government jurisdiction - 5,096 tons," the message said.
As the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan has noted, this year the country is expected to harvest cotton at the level of 425,000 tons.
Meanwhile, based on the Forecast of the Main Macroeconomic Indicators of Tajikistan for 2022-2024 it is anticipated that 60,000 tons of cotton worth $89.9 million will be exported from Tajikistan this year.
