DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 6. The trade turnover between Tajikistan and Germany amounted to $93.9 million from January through June 2023, Zavki Zavkizoda, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan said, during a meeting with a delegation of German investors, Trend reports.
He noted that the trade turnover increased by 2.1 times compared to the first half of 2022.
During the meeting, Zavkizoda proposed to German investors to explore opportunities for financing the development of Tajikistan's industry, energy sector, export potential, green economy, and digital economy.
Both sides expressed readiness to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and implement the mentioned initiatives.
The delegation of German investors arrived in Dushanbe to participate in an investment forum that has just kicked off. The forum aims to discuss the expansion of cooperation between entrepreneurs from Tajikistan and Germany and to explore investment opportunities in the country.
Overall, Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover reached about $4 billion from January through July 2023, down by 3.5 percent compared to the similar period in 2022.
Throughout this period, the country maintained trade relations with 111 countries worldwide.
