DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, January 10. The World Bank (WB) expects Tajikistan’s real GDP growth to reach 5.5 percent in 2024, Trend reports.
In its latest report, the bank has revised its expectations, raising them by 0.5 percentage points compared to the forecast published in June 2023. However, the forecast for 2025 remains unchanged - at 4.5 percent - from the June projection.
The WB highlighted that Tajikistan's real GDP growth in 2023 stood at 7.5 percent, surpassing the bank's June expectations by 1 percentage point. In 2022, Tajikistan's real GDP growth reached 8 percent, and 9.4 percent in 2021.
Similarly, the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) released a forecast in early 2024 predicting Tajikistan's real GDP growth to reach 5.6 percent in 2024. The UN's expectations for 2025 are slightly more optimistic than the World Bank's, projected to hit 5.1 percent.
Meanwhile, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) foresees Tajikistan's GDP growth rates at 7.3 percent for 2024, 6.3 percent for 2025, and 7.1 percent for 2026.
