DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 13. Total deposits of credit financial organizations in Tajikistan amounted to 19.462 billion somoni ($1.781 billion) as of December 31, 2023, Trend reports.
According to the National Bank of Tajikistan, the figure increased by 3.954 billion somoni ($362 million), or 25.5 percent, compared to the same period in 2022.
Credit financial organizations owned 44.5 percent of foreign currency deposits during the reporting period, up 0.2 percentage points from the same time in 2022.
As of December 31, 2023, Tajikistan's credit financial organizations had total assets of 37.679 billion somoni ($3.358 billion). This figure rose by 7.648 billion somoni ($700.227 million), or 25.5 percent, from the same period in 2022.
Tajikistan boasted 63 credit financial organizations, including 14 traditional banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit organization, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations, and 25 microcredit funds as of December 31, 2023.
