DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, August 1. Passenger traffic at Tajikistan's airports has decreased in the first half of 2024, Habibullo Nazarzoda, Head of the country's Civil Aviation Agency, said at a press conference, Trend reports.
According to him, in the first half of 2024, Tajik airports served nearly 1.7 million passengers, which is a decrease of 35,800 people compared to the same period last year.
The number of flights during the first half of 2024 totaled 5,787, down by 238 flights, or 2.3 percent, from the first half of the previous year.
Nazarzoda noted that Dushanbe International Airport handled 1.1 million passengers, while Khujand Airport served 391,400, Kulyab Airport 94,800, and Bokhtar Airport 40,000.
Regular flights were operated by one domestic airline, Somon Air, and 12 foreign carriers, including Utair, Ural Airlines, Nordwind Airlines, S7, Yamal, Kazakhstan's Air Astana, Uzbekistan Airways, Flydubai, Turkish Airlines, Iran's Varesh Airlines, and Kuwait's Jazeera Airways.
