Number of projects completed under development program for Tajikistan's Rasht disclosed

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 15. Under Tajikistan's Social and Economic Development Program for the Rasht district (2021-2025), work has been completed on 202 out of 256 planned projects, accounting for 79 percent of the total, Trend reports.

President Emomali Rahmon made this announcement during a meeting with Rasht residents to mark the 33rd anniversary of Tajikistan's independence.

The program has a total budget of 393 million somoni ($36.9 million).

Looking ahead to the 35th anniversary of independence on September 9, 2026, Rahmon highlighted plans for launching 307 additional infrastructure projects in the Rasht district by this date, with construction and renovation already finished on 131 of these.

Furthermore, he noted that since gaining independence in 1991, more than 2.7 billion somoni ($253.7 million) has been invested in the district's socio-economic development, including 1.5 billion somoni ($140.9 million) from the state budget.

Additionally, 25 state investment projects worth 500 million somoni ($46.9 million) have been implemented in the district, and work continues on another 6 projects, which have so far utilized 123 million somoni ($11.5 million).
