CACCC-2025 climate change conference set to roll into Turkmenistan's Ashgabat

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 19. The Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2025) will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on May 13–15, Trend reports.

Environmental programs in Central Asia and climate finance mechanisms will be the topics of discussion at this conference, which will also include speakers from several international organizations.

Topics such as energy and water security and methods for moving towards a "green" economy will receive extra focus during the event.

Since 2016, the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) has convened the CACCC on an annual basis, facilitating a collaborative discourse on the intricacies of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies within the region.

Engagement opportunities are accessible through both physical attendance and virtual platforms. Registration for in-person participation will be open until February 28, 2025.

The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program constitutes a collaborative framework involving 11 sovereign entities and various development stakeholders, synergistically engaging to enhance developmental trajectories through strategic cooperation, thereby catalyzing economic expansion and alleviating poverty metrics. It operates under the strategic framework of an overarching vision encapsulated in the principles of “Good Neighbors, Good Partners, and Good Prospects.” The initiative serves as a dynamic enabler of actionable, outcome-oriented regional endeavors and strategic policy frameworks essential for fostering sustainable economic advancement and collective prosperity within the area.
