(Turkmenistan.ru) - Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov relieved Hojaberdi Byashimov of his post of the governor of Mary province for serious shortcomings in his work and distortion in reports on wheat sowing for the 2007 harvest during an expanded government meeting today. (At the moment, 207 thousand of 293 thousand hectares of land allocated for winter crops are sown in Mary province). The head of state also instructed relevant bodies to prepare a resolution on fining him tenfold of his monthly salary. By the decree of the head of state, first deputy governor Muhammet Gurbannazarov was appointed governor of Mary province, reports Trend.
By the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, chairman of the state service of Turkmenistan for registration of foreign citizens, chief of the Turkmen President Administration department for monitoring law enforcement agencies and military bodies, Myrat Yslamov, was appointed first deputy governor of Mary province. Saparmurat Niyazov appointed deputy chairman of the service Yalym Berdiyev new chairman of the state service of Turkmenistan for registration of foreign citizens, chief of the Turkmen President Administration department for monitoring law enforcement agencies and military bodies.
During the meeting which was a follow up of serious discussion started on November 27 on the state of affairs in agriculture, the head of state also made other staff decision. It should be recalled that the talk was about the situation in provinces that had been allowed by a number of local heads who committed serious violations that have been revealed during investigation of the winter crops sowing and cotton harvest campaigns.
Niyazov fired governors of Bayramaly district of Mary province Annadurdy Muhamov as well as governor of Murgab district of Mary province Muhammetnury Kerimov for serious shortcomings in work and distortion in reports on wheat sowing for the 2007 harvest. According to the president, governors of these districts would be elected from amongst members of district people's councils (local councils) during elections that would coincide with elections of city people's councils scheduled for December 3.
Saparmurat Niyazov also drew attention of the meeting participants to the work of regional branches of the Association of Bread Products Turkmengallaonumleri, Association Turkmenobahyzmat and State Concern Turkmenpagta. As the president noted, there is still no document that would define duties and responsibilities of these structures that their managers simply have no clue of. In this regard, the head of state instructed the minister of agriculture, Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev and chief of staff of the president of Turkmenistan, Muhammetberdy Byashimov, to work out regulations specifying the activities of these structures.
Resuming the meeting, Saparmurat Niyazov expressed hope that Mary province will remember this critical discussion and find a worthy way out of the situation. The president reminded the meeting participants that the 18th Halk Maslakhaty (People's Council) will be held in Mary in March 2007. "In our work, we have to rely on honest, decent people, true masters of land who are many in Turkmenistan and whom our blessed land owes its wealth and abundance since time immemorial," the head of state emphasized.
