The "Tajik Air" airline company has suspended the sale of tickets for the Dushanbe–Samarkand flight, because of the need to approve the updated flight schedule, the representative of the airline company said.
The Press secretary of “Tajik Air” company Aziz Khairulloev said the sale of tickets for flights between the capital of Tajikistan, and Samarkand will resume soon.
The Dushanbe-Samarkand-Dushanbe flight was opened on July 28. The cost of one-way flight was 300 somoni ($31.8).
The air traffic between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was terminated in 1992, after the beginning of the civil war in Tajikistan, it was resumed as late as in 2017.
Currently, the aircraft of the "Uzbekistan Airways" national airline company fly between the two countries – along the Tashkent-Dushanbe route, and the aircraft of Tajik airline company "Somon Air" fly along the Dushanbe-Bukhara route.
The air traffic between the two capitals was opened in April 2017. The first plane from Dushanbe to Bukhara flew on August 6.
The “Uzbekistan Airways” company, together with its Tajik colleagues, is considering the possibility of opening flights to Uzbekistan from Kulyab and Bokhtar (former Kurgan-Tyube) cities of Tajikistan.
