Uzbekistan shares volume of exported onions in 7M2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 4. Uzbekistan exported 298,700 tons of onion for a total of $58.3 million from January through July 2024, Trend reports.

The data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency shows that the recorded volume has increased by 17.2 percent compared to the same period last year (254,700 tons in January–July 2023).

At the same time, the volume of onion exports from Uzbekistan has significantly decreased to 31,300 tons in July 2024, compared to 54,700 tons in June 2024.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 1.2 million tons of fruit and vegetables worth $792.3 million from January through July 2024. This figure has increased by 9 percent compared to the same period last year (1.1 million tons in January–July 2023).

Russia took the cake when it came to horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan, with a whopping volume of 468,300 tons valued at a cool $343.9 million. Pakistan came in second place, hitting it out of the park with a whopping 94,700 tons of exports valued at $121.4 million. Kazakhstan wasn't far behind, bringing in a grand total of 378,700 tons of horticultural products worth the same $121.4 million from January through July 2024.
