Iran rejected reports on buying Tupolev Tu-204SM planes from Russia, ISNA reported.
An Iranian Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) official in charge of flight standard Hossein Habibi Ahzoun dismissed reports on Iranian carriers' demand to buy Tu-204SM twin-jet passenger aircraft from Russia.
Reports say Vice President of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) Alexander Tulyakov has recently said Iranian airlines have called for purchase of Tupolev Tu-204SM jets.
"We have received no offer from Iranian airlines to apply these passenger plans," Habibi said adding Tu-204SM twin-jet passenger aircraft has been criticized by Russian President Dimitry Medevef.
"Iran's CAO will examine records of any air planes before its inclusion in the country's aviation fleet," he added.
