The head of the Industry, Mines, and Trade Organisation in Iran's Sistan and Baluchistan Province Nader Mirshekaf says the region can process and export 50,000 tons of wheat, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports.
If India can provide Sistan and Baluchistan's factories with wheat that meets the required standards, the province can process it into flour and export it to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia, Mirshekaf told the Indian embassy's second secretary.
The south eastern Iranian province has a 260,000 tons of capacity in its mechanised silos and the population consumes 25,000 tons of flour, said Mr Mirshekaf.
There are 10 flour factories in Sistan and Baluchistan which produce 75,000 tons of flour monthly.
India's representative Shri Nandakumar, said his country is ready to invite Iranian specialists to take samples of India's quality certified wheat.
